CMU Law-Related Programs

Central Michigan University offers a wide variety of academic programs that support preparation for law school and law-related careers.

 

Law schools do not require any specific major or minor, and students are encouraged to select a field of study that aligns with their interests while developing key skills such as critical thinking, research, writing, and communication. CMU’s diverse programs allow students to tailor their academic experience to support both law school success and long-term career goals.

Major Programs

Study government, politics, and policy while developing strong analytical and communication skills. 

Learn through classes like:

  • PSC 301 Law and Policy in Michigan State Government

  • PSC 275 Great Political Thinkers

Political Science Major

Minor Programs

Examine the U.S. justice system and learn advocacy skills for engaging with legal institutions.

Public Law Minor
