Good morning! This month’s newsletter has some new information that you’ll want to check out!
Criminal Law Added & Other Summer Classes
We have added a new online section of PSC/SOC 365 Criminal Law this summer, which is a great time to take this class! The class is required for the Public Law minor (now offered online!) and is an elective for many other majors and minors. Even if you are not a Public Law minor, if you want an interesting and engaging law class this summer, I highly recommend it!
Speaking of law classes, there is typically an unfortunate lack of law classes offered over summer, but there are still some good options for pre-law students. Summer classes offer the opportunity to work toward the Public Law minor with PSC 105 and PSC/SOC 365 (as mentioned above) or the Lawmaking and Legal Processes certificate with PSC 105, PSC 320, and PSC 321 all offered. Let us know if you have any questions about any of these classes and/or law-based programs.
Keep in mind that decisions on cancelling summer 2026 classes will be made very soon, with fall 2026 and spring 2027 classes not far behind. Thus, if you will be here past May, but haven’t already registered for the summer and/or next year, consider doing so ASAP. By making sure you are registered, you are helping the classes you need/want to take to stay on the schedule!

Inside the Legal Profession: Pathways, Perspectives, and Practice -- A Women in Law Association Panel Night

Women in Law Association, in collaboration with NBLSA, Phi Alpha Delta, L.A.W.S., SAJE, and SGA, invites students to join us for an evening of insight, conversation, and career exploration within the legal field.
This event is designed to connect students with professionals from a variety of legal paths and areas of practice, offering an honest perspective on the realities of the profession. Through a moderated panel discussion and audience Q&A, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about career pathways, day-to-day work in the legal field, and practical steps for preparing for futures in law and related professions.
No matter your interests within the legal field, this panel offers a valuable opportunity to ask questions, hear diverse perspectives, and gain meaningful professional insight. Further details coming soon!
Have a great week!
